"ARRANGEMENTS" directed by Thavary Krouch is an exploration of the messy, complex nature of family. It's a love letter to Chicago, sister-cousins, and the often annoying but well-meaning love of Asian moms.
In the vibrant neighborhood of West Town, Chicago, two cousins, once inseparable, now find themselves estranged. But life has a funny way of bringing people back together, even when old wounds still sting.
And so, when one of them announces her upcoming wedding, an opportunity for reconciliation emerges. As they shop for wedding floral arrangements, old resentments and awkward tensions resurface, forcing them to confront the deep-seated issues that have kept them apart.
The film had its premiere at Midwest Film Fest for their Global Kaleidoscope Night: Exploring Cultural Diversity Through Film at the Gene Siskel Film Center.
The title design draws inspiration directly from its location surrounding its central theme-a flower shop. The creative process involved exploring various floral styles to find one that best complements the film's tone and voice. The result is a design that feels both wholesome and refreshing, capturing the essence of vibrant flowers while echoing the film's narrative charm. This floral-inspired aesthetic aligns seamlessly with the heartwarming and rejuvenating spirit of the story.
